World war 2 in Hope and Galmpton

Just a brief early post because next week end, the Bank Holiday, the History Group is holding an exhibition in the Fishermen's Reading Room. The theme this year is events with a 9 in the year, so do not miss a display about the Louis Sheid wreck in 1939,  information on the Eddystone Lighthouse, and war time events, including the rescue of the crew of an American bomber which came down off Hope, and a plan of the village showing where the RAF were billeted,  where bombs landed in the village, and much more. Do come along, maz
